About

Born in Frankfurt am Main in 1993, Marie Tetzlaff studied oboe and instrumental pedagogy in Tel Aviv, Cologne, Barcelona, and Stuttgart. During her studies, she was a member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, the Zermatt Festival Academy and the Mahler Chamber Academy.

She has performed as a guest with many renowned orchestras, including the WDR Symphony Orchestra, Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne and Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. From 2019 to 2021, she served as principal oboist of the Philharmonic Orchestra Heidelberg and currently holds the same position with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra.

An enthusiastic chamber musician, she has appeared at festivals such as Risør Chamber Music Festival, Oslo Chamber Music Festival, Spannungen Festival Heimbach, and Norsjø Chamber Music Festival. She is a member of Oslo Sinfonietta and Oslo Kammerakademi, and a regular guest with the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. As a soloist, she has performed with the Chamber Orchestra Frankfurt, the Philharmonic Orchestra Heidelberg, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, and the Berliner Barock Solisten.

Alongside her performing career, Marie is dedicated to musical education. Holding a master’s degree in music pedagogy, she is passionate about sharing her knowledge and love of music. She teaches at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo and is currently also a guest teacher at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
